Sample — steal the shape, not the community

SAMPLE A1 — Dorm laundry time-bank

This is a SAMPLE. It is not Eagecoin and not a template to copy word-for-word. Steal the headings and the honesty. Invent your own community.

Working title: SpinHour · ticker SPIN

Community

Who is in: residents of one WashU dorm (Millbrook) who live on floors 2–4 this semester. Who is out: other dorms, guests, and anyone not on the RA roster. How you join: the RA adds your name and class-wallet address to the floor list in Week 1.

Problem

People hoard empty machines by “reserving” them with a water bottle, so late-night laundry never starts — we need a way to queue and pay for a real 45-minute slot, not a slogan.

Unit of account

People think in minutes of machine time. We still quote a CLASSUSD price later so the class bowl has a numeraire. One SPIN = 15 minutes on a washer or dryer the floor actually controls.

What the coin is

Holder asset: 15 minutes of machine time you can spend or pass to a neighbor. Promise: the RA team (the issuers) will honor a booked slot and will not sell SPIN as an investment.

Supply idea

Minter = the two RAs on the roster. Cap = 800 (about two weeks of evening slots). Coins retire when a slot is used (burn on start). Draft only — A2 locks the table.

How classmates will use it by Week 4

A student not on the RA team pays 2 SPIN for a 30-minute dryer slot on Thursday 9pm, shows the tx, and the machine is free when they arrive.

This would fail (do not write this)

  • Community: “everyone on campus.”
  • Problem: “CampusCoin will moon” / “we want a blockchain.”
  • Unit: unstated.
  • Coin: only “it is an asset”; no one is on the hook.
  • Week 4 use: “people will trade it.” (A trade of what?)
